I’m Yashwanth Narayan Shravanaboyina Besta, a senior at Sunset High School in the Beaverton area and Co-Founder & Co-CEO of AIR (Artificial Intelligence Rethought).
Through AIR, I work to promote the ethical and effective use of artificial intelligence in education. I believe every student should be proficient in AI tools, and that meaningful change begins with empowering teachers. My work has been recognized by Fox News for classroom AI integration and by KGW 8 for innovation in AI-based education initiatives.
I have developed a demo-ready AI learning system focused on affordability and quality. Through partnerships with the Beaverton School District, I have collaborated with superintendents, the Chief Technology Officer, and administrators to support district-wide AI initiatives. I also led surveys collecting feedback from over 500 students to help shape responsible AI integration strategies.
Beyond academics, I am passionate about cricket. I founded my school’s cricket club and have captained and organized multiple inter-school matches. I am also an active community volunteer and have participated in initiatives such as SEWA Diwali, supporting food drives for the homeless while sharing the spirit of the festival.
I plan to pursue Computer Science in college with a focus on Artificial Intelligence, and I am committed to using technology to create meaningful, equitable impact in education and beyond.
