About me
Hello!! My name is Laura Axon. I have been a School Library Media Specialist in Portland Public Schools since 2017 and the Oregon Region 4 for the Oregon Association of School Libraries. Collaboration with the Oregon Library Association has led me to Co-Chair of the International Relations Round Table and Co-Chair of the Middle School Oregon Reader's Choice Committee. I have also provided testimony for the OLA Legislative Committee in Salem, Oregon. I have been a member of the Statewide Database Licensing Advisory Committee. Currently I am a member of the Oregon Historical Society Teacher’s Advisory Board and was a member of the Portland History Reader Third/Fourth Grade Update Teacher Advisory Group. I am a Portland Public Schools 2025 Torch Award Winner for Global Connections and Innovation. I am also endorsed as a French teacher. I have completed my own personal quadfecta of climbing Mt Hood, Mt St Helens, running the Hood to Coast and the Portland Marathon.
